Scott City tennis competes at Great Bend, Hays

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–It was a busy few days for the Scott City tennis team, as they went to Great Bend on Saturday, that was postponed from the previous week, and traveled to Hays on Monday for the Hays High Invitational.
At Great Bend on Saturday, Scott City would finish fifth as a team with 17 points. Garden City took the team title with 30 points, while Hoisington was second with 26 points. The No. 2 Doubles team of Carson Bennett/Brant Powelson would finish second, while Brody Strine/Brody Stoecklein at No. 1 Doubles was third and Jace Miller placed sixth.
In Hays on Monday, the Beavers would have a solid day on the courts. Scott City would tie for second with Hays with 25 points. Trego would win the meet with 32 points. The No. 1 Doubles team of Brody Stoecklein/Brody Strine would place third, along with the No. 2 Doubles team of Carson Bennett/Brant Powelson. At No. 2 Singles, Jace Miller placed fourth and Reed Batterton was fifth at No. 1 Singles.
