Cimarron, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–It’s been a rough season for schedules for the Scott City wrestling team. Having a pair of tournaments canceled in the season to a stretch of having to make weight from this past Thursday to Tuesday, the regular season is officially over. Wrestling in Cimarron, the young Scott City group was able to knock off the Bluejays 40-30 in a final tune up for regionals next week.

Tuesday’s dual not only featured a pair of junior varsity matches, where the teams split, but also featured wrestlers from their youth programs in Scott City and Gray County Wrestling Clubs sprinkled in the middle. Scott City won eight of the 10 matchups. As for the varsity, The Beavers won three weight divisions by forfeit, and the Bluejays won two. In head to head competition, Scott City went 5-3 against Cimarron.

Scott City will be at the Class 4A Regional meet in Buhler February 17-18, while Cimarron heads to WaKeeney for the Class 3-2-1A Regional February 17-18.
