Scott City leads after day one at 3-2-1A State, four area wrestlers in the finals

Hays, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–After a wild first day of the Class 3-2-1A State Tournament, the Scott City Beavers lead the team standings after the first day, with three wrestlers into Saturday’s finals. Scott City has 80.5 points, and have five wrestlers still alive after the first day, with four guaranteed to medal. Hoxie has 62 points and has five wrestlers alive as well, while Hoisington is in third with 57.5 and is in third, with also five wrestlers remaining in the tournament.

The Beavers were able to put three into the finals, with Justus McDaniel at 126, Kaden Wren at 132 and Wyatt Hayes at 170. Cimarron put Josh Seabolt into the finals at 195, who is looking to win his second straight title.

Day two begins at 9 am Saturday with the Consolation Cross-bracketing round.
