Scott City golf with a good showing at Colby
Colby, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Playing in their first golf tournament in a couple of weeks, the Scott City golf team returned to the links on Thursday at the Colby Invitational at Meadow Lake Golf Course.
Hoxie won the meet with a score of 342, followed by Goodland in second, shooting a 357 and Colby & Oberlin tied for third with a team round of 374. Scott City was sixth in the team standings with a score of 385. It is the first time this season that the Beaver golf team has had enough players for a team score.
Jackson Lewis led the way with a third place finish, shooting a round of 84, eight shots behind Goodland’s Garin Ihrig, who won with a score of 76. Other Scott City scores included Shea Morris finishing in 14th with a round of 94, Dexter Gooden was 27th, shooting a 102, Baron Strine was 33rd with a 105, and Josh Rosin was 36th with a 116.
Scott City will wrap up their regular season on Thursday at the GWAC Invitational in Hugoton.
