Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–After having one of their most successful seasons in program history last year, the Scott City girls tennis team will look to fill some holes from a team that placed ninth at state last year, and were regional champions.

Gone are three seniors, but the cupboard isn’t bare. Three returning varsity members and two state placers will help lead the 2020 squad that will not feature a senior on the roster. Sadie Hermosillo and Bella Myers placed ninth in doubles at state as sophomores.

This seasons team comprises of 25 players.

While the season is quick, Scott City will get challenged early on in September at the Hays Invitational. New to their schedule is the GWAC meet. With five teams in the league having a tennis program, there will be a league tournament played for the first time. Playing on their new tennis courts for a second year, Scott City is slated to host regionals this year on October 9-10.
