SCHS Volleyball gearing up for upcoming season
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Numbers are up for the 2014 SCHS Volleyball team, as they are wrapping up their first week of practice, in preparation for their season opener in Hill City on Tuesday, September 2, against the Lady Ringnecks and Ness City, who have had state tournament appearances in recent seasons and have had solid programs in recent history. This year’s team has 34 players on its squad.
Coming off a 6-27 season a year ago, Scott City returns only four players that had significant playing time on the varsity level. A young team in 2013 is still a fairly young team in 2014, with only one senior, and two juniors and one sophomore that started on varsity a year ago are looking to help turn things in the right direction.
