Sally Ann (Anderson) Colbert
Sally Ann (Anderson) Colbert, 37, passed away on April 10, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Sally was born March 10, 1980 at Meade District Hospital. She attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and Dodge City High School.
On May 3, 2003 she married John Colbert. Sally worked many jobs, but she considered her greatest accomplishment to be raising two wonderful boys. After being diagnosed in 2015, Sally set forth on her journey of living with cancer. She has been an inspiration to many people who suffered from this disease. She fought the battle on her own terms and remained true to herself and her family by continuing to be involved with family, school and community activities.
Sally is survived by her husband John; 3 sons, Payton Churchill, Sebastian Colbert both of the home, and Chance Hertel of Dodge City; Stepdaughters, Haleigh Colbert, Winfield and Courtney Colbert, Copeland; her parents, Kurtis and Sherry Anderson, Dodge City; Grandparents, Mrs. Margaret Wirsig, Dunlap, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Eyler Anderson, Salina; 2 brothers, Hal Anderson and wife Megan, Haslet, Texas and Levi Anderson, Springfield, Missouri; 2 sisters, Chelsea Donlay and husband Pete, Hays and Kirby Anderson, San Francisco, California; 2 nephews; 3 Nieces and many, many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Harry Wirsig, Dunlap, Kansas and her uncle, Kory Anderson, Salina, Kansas.
A Celebration of Sally’s Life will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, Dodge City, with Scott Tilley officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. Visitation will be from noon to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. The family requests casual dress with bright colors for anyone attending.
