Royals drop series finale to Seattle
Kansas City, Mo. (westernkansasnews.com)–Jesus Montero went 3-4 with a home run and four rbi to lead the Seattle Mariners past the Kansas City Royals 6-1 Thursday afternoon to take three out of four games in the series. Kansas City’s lone run came on a single by Chris Getz, scoring Eric Hosmer. Will Smith gave up four runs in six and a third innings, and took the loss for the Royals. Kansas City will host a weekend series with the Minnesota Twins beginning tonight. Luke Hochevar will get the start for the Royals, while Minnesota is slated to send Nick Blackburn to the mound. The first pitch is set for 7:10 at Kauffman Stadium.
