Rosie D. Carter, 55, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at her home in Deerfield, Kansas. She was born April 23, 1961 in Sayre, Oklahoma the daughter of Cecil & Dolly (Blackburn) Clymer.
Rosie lived in various places before moving to Deerfield in 1989. She has lived in Deerfield since. She worked as a CNA at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin. Rosie enjoyed participating in area Farmer’s Markets, camping, woodworking, and her dog “Teddy.”
Survivors include three sons James Clymer of Deerfield, KS, Bill Clymer of Lakin, KS, and Tim Clymer of Deerfield, KS; her mother Dolly Clymer of Deerfield, KS; six sisters Theresa Orozco of Holcomb, KS, Joyce Croft of Durham, KS, Laura Porter of Garden City, KS, Cecil Gassett of Garden City, KS, Ovanda Partridge of Holcomb, KS, and Glenda Cunningham of Deerfield, KS; and seven grandchildren. Rosie is preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev. Doug Olson officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family request memorials given to the Rosie Carter Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
