Rosa Rovenna Peters, age 89, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013, 2013 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on March 5, 1924 in Leoti, Kansas the daughter of Allie Kellogg and Ava Bell Henry Childs. A resident of Garden City since 1945, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the RSVP and the Pickin & Playin group at the Finney County Senior Center, both of Garden City, Kansas.

On September 30, 1945 she married Boniface A. “B.A.” Peters in Tribune, Kansas. He died June 3, 1979 in Garden City, Kansas.

  • Two Sons, Robb Peters of Wichita, KS and
  • Nine Grandchildren, Kathie (& Rodney) Base of Holcomb, KS,
  • Lawrence (& Sue) Peters of Wichita, KS;
  • Sammy (& Terri) Matthews, Jr. of Garden City, KS,
  • Eddy (& Christy) Butler of Wichita, KS,
  • Kristina R. Butler of Garden City, KS,
  • Michael Peters of Wichita, KS,
  • Michelle (& Chris) Matson of Wichita, KS,
  • Vonda Hatcher of Garden City, KS,
  • Shirley (& Johnny) Milhallond of Garden City, KS, and Michael Hatcher of Garden City, KS;
  • 16 Great-Grandchildren, Kimberly White, Candice Rowland, Kelby Hauschild, Erik, Dustin & Kenyon Base, Justin Soukup, Zachary, Zoerina & Jeanette Corpus, Chad & Nickolas Butler, William & Victoria Poyner, Shadow Butler & Travis Kessler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a Step-Daughter, Mary Anne Nelson, Four Brothers, Bill, Walton, Floyd & Cecil Childs and Two Sisters, Hattie Minnick & Lorene Harvey.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Sunset

Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.

Public visitation will be from Noon-8pm on Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home. 

Memorials may be given to the Rosa Peters Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
