Ronald Dale Ediger, 72, died Tuesday April 28, 2015 at his residence in Liberal, KS. He was born October 5, 1942 in Beaver, OK, the son of Paul and Sara (Dick) Ediger. He graduated in 1960 from Turpin High School, Turpin, OK and then attended Bethel College, North Newton, KS. He joined 1W Alternative Service in Evanston, IL where he worked the Evanston hospital for two years along with Leanna. He farmed with his father in Beaver County, OK, and was also a cattle rancher and swine producer. In 1989, he became bi-vocational by driving truck for K T Trucking. Ron began working for J&R Sand Co. in 2005 as a Truck Foreman. In October of 2012, Ron and Leanna moved from the farm to Liberal, KS. He was an active member in the Turpin Mennonite Church. He held many offices at the church and was currently serving as Deacon. Ron was elected to serve on the Turpin School Board from 1983-93 as well as serving 5 years on the Oklahoma State School Board Association. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Ron and his wife, Leanna (Martens) had the joy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2013 as they were married on November 29, 1963 at Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, Buhler, KS. She survives. Other survivors include: 2 sons: Kevin Ediger, and wife Karan of Edmond, OK Korey Ediger of Garden City, KS 1 daughter: Kelly Carlile and husband Todd of Liberal, KS 1 brother: Max Ediger of Cambodia 5 grandchildren: Logan Ediger, Courtney Carlile, Kennedy Porter, Kristen Ediger, and Jordan Carlile. He was preceded in death by both his mother and father. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Turpin Mennonite Church, Turpin, OK with Pastor Terry Rediger presiding. Private inurment will be in Turpin Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Friday with the family present to greet friends from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Brenneman Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers and plants, Memorial contributions may be made to Turpin Mennonite Church, MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) or to a charity of donor’s choice in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
