Rollie “R.G.” McRoberts

Rollie “R.G.” McRoberts, 78, died Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.

He was born November 14, 1938 at Pocahontas, Arkansas, the son of Clyde L. and Tiny Jane (Persful) McRoberts. He was a mechanic and spent 35 years in Dodge City, moved to Arkansas for 16 years, retiring in 2004, and returned to Dodge City in 2007.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge. In his younger years, he raced cars and continued to enjoy watching the races later in life.

On August 26, 1959 he married Kyleen Davis at Hutchinson.

Survivors include: his wife, Kyleen, Dodge City; his 4 children, Pamela Luce and companion, Mike Kortz, Dodge City, Randy McRoberts and companion, Mickey Rouse, Andy McRoberts and companion, Amy Carroll, Dallas and Dean McRoberts and companion, Joni Esquibel, Dodge City; his brother, Floyd Norman McRoberts and wife Linda, Dexter, Missouri; a step-sister, Sharon Fowler, Hutchinson; 8 grandchildren, Ty Luce, Jamie Luce, Randle McRoberts, Robbie McRoberts, Jaden McRoberts, Jesse Barber, Jonas Wainscott and Aaron Krestin and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clyde McRoberts, a sister, Polly Duckworth and 2 step-brothers, Ronnie and Donnie Hickey.

Memorial graveside service will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 5, 2017 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, with Richard Crockett officiating. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register Thursday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
