Road work underway on US 50 near Dodge City
Dodge City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The KDOT Mill and Overlay Project on US 50 is just to the west of Dodge City.
The Milling and Overlay of the east bound lane of US 50 from the west intersection of US 50 and West Wyatt Earp Blvd. to the rear entrance of the Dodge City Community College is underway. The construction will skip US 50 through town and resume approximately ¼ mile east of Central Ave. The mill and overlay project will continue through the Fairway & US 50 Intersection work zone and end at the intersection of US 50 and US 56/US 283 (east End of Wyatt Earp Blvd) near the Koch Nitrogen plant 3 miles east of Dodge City.
The contractor will then turn around and Mill and Overlay the west bound lane of US 50 from this intersection back to the west intersection of West Wyatt Earp Blvd. and US 50. The intersection of Comanche St. and US 50 will also receive a mill and overlay operation during this phase.
The mill and overlay operations on this part of US 50 should take 7-10 days. You can expect delays up to 15 minutes through the work zone. Please drive cautiously through the project and “Give the Highway Workers A Brake”. Updates for this project can be found on KDOT’s KANDRIVE.org web site.
