Richard William “Dick” Boyd
Richard William “Dick” Boyd, 30 died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in Garden City. He was born May 24, 1986 in Garden City the son of Greg & Diana (Gugelmeyer) Boyd.
Richard grew up in Garden City and attended Garden City schools. He graduated from both, Garden City High School and Garden City Community College in 2004. He then attended Kansas State University. Richard has worked for the last 13 years in sales and support for Pico Technologies. He lived in Garden City until 2012 when he moved to Tyler, Texas. Richard participated in the Happy Hustlers 4-H and also FFA. He enjoyed being with his family and friends especially his niece and nephews, his motorcycles, spending time at the lake, and racing.
Survivors include his parents Greg & Diana Boyd of Garden City; 3 brothers Jeff & wife Cassy Boyd of Garden City, Scott & wife Amanda Boyd of Wichita, Ks., and Chris & wife Kylie Boyd of Garden City; Grandparents Patricia Gugelmeyer of Garden City, Gladys Boyd of Garden City, and Doris & Lowell Williams of Laguna Woods, Ca.; and Nephews and Niece Braeden Boyd, Kasyn Boyd, Keedyn Boyd, and Madyn Boyd.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City with Rev. Tod Anthony officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Garnand Funeral Home.
