Richard D. Scott, 77, died Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. 

He was born July 12, 1939 at Ensign, Kansas, the son of Donald Dean and Pearl (Burns) Scott. He was a graduate of Cimarron High School and attended Barber College. He worked as a barber in Meade, Montezuma, Garden City and Cimarron. He also was a self employed welder and tree trimmer. He later worked as a Rural Mail Carrier until retiring in August of 2014. 

He was a member of Valleyview Bible Church, Cimarron. 

On July 9, 1971 he married Connie Koehn at Cimarron. She survives. 

Other survivors include: 3 children, Traci Henderson and husband Terry, Minneapolis, Minnesota, David Hobson and wife Cooki, Ft. Worth, Texas and Tammi Cramer and husband Ted, Virginia Beach, Virginia; a sister, Phyllis Gleason and husband Jim, Manhattan, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Tereasa Scott and a sister, Marilyn “Mernie” Grauerholz. 

Memorial services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Valleyview Bible Church, Cimarron, with Pastor Matthew Hamilton officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. 

The family suggests memorials to Dodge City Special Olympics in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 446, Cimarron, Kansas 67835.
