Rex O. Bradstreet
Rex O. Bradstreet, 81 died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born May 7, 1933 in Dighton, Kansas the son of Waldo E. & Lillie Belle (Sizemore) Bradstreet.
Rex grew up in Dighton where he graduated from Dighton High School. On April 13, 1952 he married Mary Spence in Dighton. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Garden City, Kansas. They later lived in Eureka, Kansas and Hutchinson, Kansas. They moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1976 and have lived there since. Rex worked for Southwestern Bell where he retired in 1990 as a supervisor. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include a son Terry Bradstreet of Hutchinson, Ks.; a sister Betty Hopkins of Farmers Branch, Texas; four grandchildren Megan Rogers of Olathe, Kansas, Eric Bradstreet of Olathe, Kansas, Dustin Bradstreet of Hays, Kansas, and Derrick Bradstreet of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; and three great grandchildren Riley Rogers, Brody Rogers, and Reese Rogers. Rex is preceded in death by his wife Mary who died on October 14, 1992. He is also preceded in death by his parents; a son Mike Bradstreet; and three brothers Max Bradstreet, Gary Bradstreet, and Neal Bradstreet.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Dighton Memorial Cemetery in Dighton with Rev. Berniece Ludlum officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton. The family requests memorials to the American Heart Association in care of Boomhower Funeral Home.
