Reforms Called For in State’s Juvenile Justice System
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A public forum on juvenile justice issues focused on what to do with children in trouble with the law. Monday night’s meeting at the Finney County Library was sponsored by the non-profit group Kansas Appleseed identified the problem and looked for possible solutions.
Kansas Appleseed Executive Director Benet Magnuson believes it is an issue whose time has come.
So now the problem has been identified, what are the solutions?
There are calls to keep concerned citizens involved. A committee in Topeka will be moving on this issue and making recommendations to the full legislature early next year.
