Raymond Ralph A. Mills

Raymond Ralph A. Mills, died October 19, 2015 at the Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lonetree, Colorado. He was born on June 6, 1939 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of William J. and Myrtle Hummer Mills. He was a member of the Garden City community until 1965 when he moved to Denver, Colorado.

He served his country as a member of the United States Army. He worked as a field engineer for IBM for 30 years.

Ray was an avid sports fans who excelled in high school football and track, and coached his sons in baseball and soccer. He was a self taught electronics buff and eventually built his own color television which brought much joy to family evenings. Keeping up the tradition of Mills’ family stubborness, he fought cancer for eight years until finally choosing to take on new challenges, that being arguing with greater powers.

Seven Grandchildren

He is Precede in death by his parents, one brother, Calvin Mills, and one sister, Vera Blansett.

Laugh and find joy knowing that he died peacefully and happy in the end.

The stove is off and the iron’s not plugged in Dad, you can move on.

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind always be at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

and rains fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. The family will greet friends and family at the Golden Corral at 5:00 P.M. Saturday October 24, 2015 in Garden City, Kansas.

There will be no calling times.
