Ray Allen Koehn, 75, died July 6, 2016 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. He was born on June 23, 1941 in Montezuma, the son of Reuben H. Koehn and Frances (Jantz) Koehn.

Ray was lifetime resident of Montezuma, attending school there. He joined the United States Navy, serving on the USS Constellation from 1963 to 1967, where he maintained the air compressors on the ship. While in the Navy, Ray enjoyed taking pictures of all of the places he went. After his discharge, he worked for area farmers. He later joined the family farming operation. Ray loved trapshooting and collecting guns. 

He was a member of the Copeland American Legion and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ray was also a member of the National Rifle Association.

Ray is survived by two brothers, Danny Koehn and wife Sondra of Montezuma and Lorin Koehn and wife Marsha of Copeland; three sisters, Donna Koehn and husband Laural of Copeland, Myrna Wilson and husband Elvis of Montezuma, and Linda Nickel and husband Gilbert of Soldotna, Alaska; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Joan Koehn.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Tuesday July 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Bruce Titus and Minister Gilbert Nickel presiding. Burial will follow at the Montezuma Mennonite Church. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Montezuma on Monday, July 11, 2016 from noon to 8:00 PM.
