PSAT Exam Scheduled For October 16th
The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be administered to interested college-bound junior students on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. The PSAT exam will begin at 8:00 a.m. at Garden City High School. Students will need to arrive at 7:45 a.m. to get prepared for the test. The students will need to be at their room assignment promptly at 7:50 a.m. If students arrive late, they will not be allowed to take the test. The fee for taking the test is $10.00, payable when the student registers.
The PSAT/NMSQT is a shortened version of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). It is made up of actual SAT questions so taking the PSAT/NMSQT gives students an accurate picture of what taking the SAT will be like. Because the PSAT/NMSQT is given nation-wide, it can give students an idea of how they compare to other students across the country. It is also the first step students take to begin the qualifying process for the National Merit Scholarship Program, National Hispanic Scholarship Program and other scholarship programs.
