Principal Changes at Garden City Public Schools for 2019-20
Garden City Public Schools has appointed a number of experienced staff members to fill key Principal and Associate Principal positions in the district for the 2019-20 school year.
Matthew Horney will be the Principal at Jennie Barker Elementary School and Associate Principal at Abe Hubert Elementary School. He is transferring from an Instructional Coach position at Jennie Barker Elementary School.
Michelle Kent will be the Principal at Georgia Matthews Elementary School and Associate Principal at Garfield Early Childhood Center. Kent comes from the Scott Dual-Language Magnet Elementary School in Topeka, Kansas.
Karen Murrell will be the Principal at Abe Hubert Elementary School. Murrell is moving from being the Principal at Jennie Barker Elementary School and Associate Principal at Abe Hubert Elementary School.
Brandy Ochs will be the Principal at Edith Scheuerman Elementary School. Ochs is moving from being an Administrator Teacher on Special Assignment at Florence Wilson Elementary School and Victor Ornelas Elementary School.
Amy Ricks will be the Principal at Charles O. Stones Intermediate Center. Ricks is moving from being an Administrator Teacher on Special Assignment for the two intermediate centers in the district.
Andriana Caro will be the Activity Teacher on Special Assignment at Horace J. Good Middle School. She is transferring from being an English Languages Arts teacher at Horace J. Good Middle School.
David Deloach will be the Administrator Teacher on Special Assignment at Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center and Charles O. Stones Intermediate Center. He is transferring from being an English Language Arts teacher at Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center.
Jill Reagle will be the Administrator Teacher on Special Assignment at Florence Wilson Elementary School and Victor Ornelas Elementary School. She is transferring from a Literacy Coach position in the district.
The first day of school for the 2019-20 school year will be Monday, August 12th, with a half-day orientation for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, seventh grade, ninth and tenth grades and all students new to Garden City Public Schools. The first full day of school for the district will be Tuesday, August 13, 2019. All classes will be in session for the start of the 2019-20 school year.
