Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The heat over the last several days has put everyone at risk and despite urging people to take care of their pets and not leave them trapped in a sweltering car, some people still have not received the message.  Garden City Master Patrol Officer Omar Moya says they have been called out several times.

The best suggestion is leaving your pets at home perferably in the air conditioning with enough water to drink in keeping hydrated.  Those who witness an animal trapped in a hot car can call 911.
