Police Chief Finalists to Interview Next Week; Rec Superintendent Steps Down

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) It is a chance to put their best foot forward. Five finalists have been selected to take part in the assessment center to determine their candidacy in becoming the new Garden City Police chief. Two of the finalists already work within the Garden City Police Department, four of the five work in the state of Kansas. There is one out of state candidate being considered for the position.

The Garden City Recreation Commission will be under new leadership. A board member on the rec commission confirmed 31 year veteran John Washington has tenured his retirement letter stepping down as Superintendent of Recreation effective immediately. A search is already underway for Washington’s replacement.
