Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Police have been busy.  Early Tuesday afternoon a traffic stop on West Fulton led officers to arrest four people from Garden City after a drug sniffing dog indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.  Janet Washington, Sirtonaus Jackson, Alexa Garcia and Alfredo Ramirez all face drug possession charges.  Police say meth was found in the car along with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police also report a man confronted officers with a baseball bat mid-day Tuesday on the 700 block of West Fulton after answering a disturbance call. Police called their K-9 Johnny to disarm the suspect.  Upon seeing the dog coming towards him, 46 year old Andre Arteaga surrendered to officers.  Arteaga is looking at disorderly conduct and aggravated assault on an officer.

The Sonic on East Kansas closed early Tuesday night after smoke was spotted coming from the roof.  Officers determined the heater simply overheated.  No damage or injuries were reported.
