Police Beat: Drug Arrest and Vehicle Pursuit

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Last week Garden City Police and SWAT team served a warrant at a residence on the 600 block of Garden City Avenue.  The person was not at home at the time, but was later arrested on a traffic stop.  29 year old Alfredo Ramirez Junior will likely face charges for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of other drug paraphernalia.

Garden City Police officers were led on a chase Monday during the 4th of July.  The suspects eventually left their Silver Jeep Commander and fled on foot.  An officer received a hand injury while trying to scale a barb wire fence during the pursuit. 

20 year old Jose Tapia was taken into custody for reckless driving and for fleeing officers.  His 25 year old friend Steven Rosas will likely be charged with interference of an officer.
