Plan Could Bring More Water to SW Kansas
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A year long study is underway to look into what it would take to build a water aqueduct from Missouri to Southwest Kansas. Earl Lewis with the Kansas Water Office knows there is two sides to every story.
An 1982 study, came up with an estimated cost of three to four billion dollars. Although Lewis believes they can use the previous study as a guide there are also some new concerns.
The study will cost 300-thousand dollars. Groundwater District 3 out of Garden City is picking up some of the tab.
