Phyllis E. Lopp, 89, died September 28, 2016 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City. She was born on September 1, 1927 at Grainfield, the daughter of Melvin Henry and Lula (McGeeHee) Jones. 

Phyllis was a graduate of Dodge City High School and Dodge City Community College. On June 19, 1946 she married Bill Lopp at the First Presbyterian Church in Dodge City. She was a secretary of the Dodge City Presbyterian Church for many years. Phyllis also owned and operated The Hat Box Boutique from 1965 to 1975 when she retired. Bill and Phyllis spent time traveling and enjoying their home in Harlinger, Texas.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dodge City.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Jeff Lopp and wife Mary Lou of Dodge City; a daughter, Shelley Bartlett of Dodge City; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Lopp and wife Jauna of Dodge City and Tanda Nash and husband Cole of Cimarron; two step grandchildren, Aaron and Brandon Rist of Seattle, Washington; and six great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bill Lopp.

Funeral service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Kevin Salzman presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday October 3, 2016 from Noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Ford County Humane Society or First Presbyterian Church both in care of the funeral home.
