Pauline Helen Batman

Pauline Helen Batman, 94, died January 8, 2015 at the Satanta Long Term Care Unit. She was born on January 5, 1921 on the family farm in rural Ford County, near Kingsdown, the daughter of William and Margaret Grace (Isaac) Petrowsky. 

Pauline attended Kingsdown Schools and graduated in 1939. On September 21, 1940, she married Robert Glen Batman in Greensburg. He preceded her in death. After their marriage, the farmed near Greensburg. In 1945, they moved north of Sublette and continued to farm ground in Haskell County. They moved to Garden City in 1966. Pauline worked as a bookkeeper for many years. In 1993, Pauline returned to Sublette. She enjoyed sewing and painting. 

She was a member of the Sublette Christian Church and the Bible Christian Church of Garden City. 

Pauline is survived by two daughters, Linda Alexander and husband Duane of Ulysses and Sharon Hinkle of Sublette; two sisters, Cretia Barnes of Wichita and Arlene Lamar of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Clarence Petrowsky of Weatherford, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Merle, George, Carl, and Frank Petrowsky; three sisters, Clara Funston, Meta Petrowsky, and Grace Petrowsky; a son-in-law, Jim Hinkle; and a granddaughter, Sherry Alexander. 

Funeral service will be held at Sublette Christian Church on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Rick Schulze presiding. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Sublette on Monday, January 12, 2015 from noon to 8:00 P.M..
