Paul D. Milburn, age 89, of Ulysses, Kansas died Monday, October 17, 2016, at The Legacy at Park View in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born July 13, 1927, in Barnett, Missouri, the son of Logan and Stella (Ratcliff) Milburn.

Paul grew up in Barnett, Missouri and attended Barnett High School. After serving in the United States Army, he returned to Missouri and sold insurance and managed a butcher shop in the Kroger Grocery Store. Paul moved to Ulysses in 1967 and worked at Columbian Carbon until his retirement. Paul married Phyllis Hampton in July 1970 in Ulysses. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79. He worked bingo for numerous years and traveled the area to play bingo. Paul also enjoyed bowling, yard work, visiting with friends at the Daylight Donut Shop, and traveling to attend his grandchildren’s events; but he loved his family most of all.

He is survived by daughters, Beverly Milburn of Ulysses, Kansas, and Pam Walker of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Clint Lee and wife Shanan, Melodie Weis and husband Zak, Tyra Olson, Skyler Burton and husband Will, Tanner Faulkner and wife Shelly, and Ashlee Franklin and husband Justin; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; and one brother, Nelson Milburn.

Funeral service will be Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with Reverend Todd Guinn officiating. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
