Passengers Sue Over March Train Derailment

Cimarron, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Thirteen of the passengers aboard an Amtrak train that derailed shortly after midnight March 14th in Cimarron are suing Cimarron Crossing Feeders for damage investigators say the company’s truck caused to the rail ties.  Amtrak and BNSF are named co-defendants.   

The lawsuit filed by attorney Nathan Karlin of the Pottrof Law Firm in Manhattan was filed in Wichita Federal Court and claims gross negligence resulting in the injuries of 28 people.   Amtrak and BNSF have also sued Cimarron Crossing Feeders.
