Pamela Gale Hargett

Pamela Gale Hargett, 66, died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Western Plains Medical Complex. She was born in Dodge City, Kansas, on October 18, 1948, the daughter of Russell and Betty McFarland Hargett. Pamela attended Dodge City High School and graduated in 1966. She then went on to attend Dodge City Community College where she earned degrees in 1968 and 1994 she also attended Emporia State University. Pamela worked for the Crisis Center of Dodge City for several years and then Kansas Legal Services. Pamela was working up until 2007 when she became ill and could not work anymore. Pamela loved to read until her sight failed her and she then began listening to books on tape, she also loved watching and listening to horse racing. She was passionate about God and her wonderful family that was by her side. She is survived by her son Brian (B.J.) Hargett, Dodge City; daughter, Callie Hargett, Dodge City; father, Russell Hargett; grandson, Collin Lee Hargett, Dodge City; a niece, nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother and one sister Dee Beadle. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday May 14, 2015 at The First Southern Baptist Church, with Chad Rhoades presiding. There will be a book signing from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Wednesday May 13, 2015 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pamela Hargett Memorial Fund in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
