Pair of Weekend Accidents in Kearny County
Kearny County, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Two accidents occurred on Kearny County highways this weekend. Sunday afternoon at 2 on US 50 by Road 180. State troopers say a vehicle driven by 27 year old Jonathan Rodriguez of Deerfield failed to yield on a right turn. 38 year old Joseph Jackson of Lakin plowed into Rodriguez’s car. Both were taken to local hospitals.
The other accident took place Saturday night shortly before 10 on Highway 50, one mile west of Deerfield where a Ford Mustang driven by 24 year old Pedro Larios-Lorenzo crossed the center line and hit a Buick LeSabre driven by 25 year old Amber Tomberlin. Tomberlin and her passenger 44 year old Bernardino Guebara of Lakin were taken to Kearny County Hospital. Tomberlin’s one year old passenger escaped injury.
