Orie Van Kenton, 83, died September 21, 2013 at the Hays Medical Center, Hays KS.

He was born June 22, 1930, in Ingalls, the son of Clifford Van and Mary Naoma Green Kenton, he was a local representative for Peoples Natural Gas.

He belonged to the First Baptist Church, Lions Club, Odd Fellows and was a volunteer for the Fire Department, all of Jetmore.

On March 30, 1955, he married Franciene (Daisy) Sinclair in Dodge City. She survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Larry Kenton, Dodge City, Van Kenton, Bucklin, Bart Kenton (Karla), Hays; three daughters, Reyne Kenton, Dodge City, Lana Miller (Jeremy), Wiley, Colorado, Leslie Koerner, Lawrence; a brother, Ray Kenton, Dodge City; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kurt Kenton and a sister, Viola Fern Steinkuehler

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2013, at the First Baptist Church, Jetmore, with the Pastor Rod McMillian presiding. Visitation will be from 9a.m. to 8p.m. Saturday and 1p.m. to 8p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Inurnment will be at the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
