One kick lifts Dodge over Garden
Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-For the majority of the season, Garden City’s defense has been consistently good. It’s been the other side of the ball that continues to haunt Joaquin Padilla’s club.
Mariyah Reyes scored on a penalty kick in the 25th minute, while Dodge City limited the Buffaloes to just seven shots in a 1-0 victory Tuesday night at Memorial Stadium.
“These games always come down to execution,” Red Demons Coach Saul Hernandez said afterwards. “And our defense played well again.”
So did Garden City’s, who held Dodge City to nine shots on goal.
The loss dropping the Buffaloes to 3-1 in Western Athletic Conference play and 5-3-1 overall. Dodge City improved to 4-0 in the WAC and 8-3 overall.
