[Garden City, KS, Sept. 23, 2019] Garden City Community College has partnered with Centura Health to offer students improved healthcare services directly on campus, where they need it most.

Starting this month, GCCC students can visit Dr. Robert Rosin of Siena Medical and St. Catherine Hospital and his staff, and receive treatment inside the Beth Tedrow Student Center between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings.

Students can walk in or make an appointment to see the doctor and nursing staff for common conditions including cold and flu symptoms, strep or sore throat, strains and sprains, and more, according to GCCC Campus Nurse Patricia Miller.

A private exam room with medical supplies and equipment is available inside the campus nurse’s office, located in the northwest corner of the building. Miller said the opportunity is especially beneficial for students who live on campus and have limited transportation options.

“We really appreciate Dr. Rosin’s willingness to  help us out, and we want students to recognize the opportunity that we’ve been blessed with and take advantage of it, if they need it,” Miller said.

Dr. Rosin, who brings over 25 years of medical experience and is board certified in internal medicine, said the decision to come to campus was mutual between his staff and GCCC. He and Miller are hopeful that the opportunity to see students directly where they live and go to school will help get more students get the treatments they need to get healthy and stay healthy.

“It’s September and young people are healthy in September,” he said. “ We’ll look for real challenge to hit November, December, and January, when everybody is isolated in their rooms and classrooms and not outdoors. That’s when illnesses will be passed around.”

Students are charged $10 for the visit and should bring their insurance card, if applicable, and their GCCC student ID card. For more information or to make an appointment contact Miller at 620-276-9601 or patricia.miller@gcccks.edu
