Olive C. Morgison, 89, died April 1, 2015 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home, Dodge City. She was born on August 17, 1925 in Pratt County, Kansas the daughter of Roy and Marie Owston. 

Olive came to Dodge City in 1950 and worked for Dillons bakery for a period of time. She later baked cakes out of her home for all occasions. On August 21, 1950 she married Pat Morgison in Clayton, New Mexico. She and her husband owned and operated Watersports Campground and RV Park in Dodge City. Olive enjoyed bowling, quilting, playing bridge and poker. 

She attended Wilroads Gardens Christian Church and belonged to Miss Kitty’s Quilters, two bowling teams Soroptomists, Depot Theater Guild, V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary, part of a group called Wacky Walkers and a proud member of the Turtle Club. 

Olive is survived by her husband Pat Morgison, Dodge City; a daughter Patty Brandenburg and husband Eldon, Dodge City; two sons Mike Morgison, Garden City, and Bill Morgison and wife Gloria, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister Corinne Harrel, Wichita; a sister in law Jeanie Morgison, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a host of nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Rowena Wines and a brother Roy Owston. 

Funeral service will be held at Dodge City Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. with Mr. Jeff Hiers and Rev. Michael Burns presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Friday, April 3, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 P.M..with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to either Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. or the V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary both in care of the funeral home.
