DODGE CITY, Kan. — The Old Dodge City 4th of July Celebration is set to take place at a new location for its 22nd year. The planning committee is excited to make the 2019 Celebration one of the best yet in its new location at Roundup Rodeo Arena, located at 608 S 14th Ave, Dodge City, KS 67801.
Gates will open at 7 pm along with concessions and beverage stands for attendees to enjoy before the display at 10 pm. Spectators can watch from the grandstands or in the parking lot. Personal fireworks and alcohol are not permitted anywhere on the grounds, and Dodge City Police Department will be patrolling the parking lot to ensure a safe an enjoyable event for all.
Currently, in its 22nd year, the community fireworks show was established to fill a void when it was illegal to shoot off fireworks in the city limits. The tradition has continued due to the community support and the regional draw. The regional fireworks display is made possible by the generous donations of local businesses and individuals.
