Novak Consulting Hears From Public on Direction of Recreation
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The firm Novak Consulting, hired by Garden City to help lead a management study for the Recreation Commission heard public comments Thursday during two informational sessions. Although the groups praised the rec for its youth programs, it was a different story when focused on the rec’s monetary decisions.
Sharp criticism came on the decision to entered into an agreement for Core Fitness to pay 11,500 dollars a month in rent and being locked in on a ten year lease. Other concerns revolved around the expense of equipment at Core and whether the makeup of rec board members need more training or expertise in finance.
It is unclear how Novak Consulting will use these comments to facilitate their report. A request for an interview has been made.
