Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Election night, Kansas voters overwhelming approved allowing non-profit and charitable groups the opportunity to raise money from raffles. Many questions still remain on how this will work.

Steve Quakenbush of the Finney County Historical Society and Museum recently attended a conference that discussed raffles. Kate Howland with the Miles of Smiles Therapeutic Horse Riding Program is excited to add raffles as a fundraising source.

Howland believes there are a lot of creative ways to use raffles. Raffles could become legal by next July.
