No shooter found at St. Catherine’s

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Wednesday night around 8 p.m. reports began to come out about a possible active shooter at St. Catherine’s Hospital. The hospital went into lockdown as a precaution and the Garden City Police and other agencies responded to the hospital to investigate.

At 8:35 p.m. St. Catherine’s released the following statement: SCH has received an unconfirmed active shooter call. Police are on scene. No active shooter has been identified. The hospital is on lockdown as a security precaution. There have been no injuries.

Shortly after the Garden City Police released a similar statement: The Garden City Police Department did receive a call of a active shooter at St. Catherine’s Hospital tonight. The Police responded and no active shooter was located. The hospital is following there security precautions. The nature of the call is being investigated. No further information will be released at this time.
