Nichols Request For Bond Reduction, Change of Venue Denied
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A court hearing which considered either a change of venue or reduction of bond for the man arrested in the home invasion and kidnapping of Chief District Judge Wendell Wurst has been denied on both motions. 33 year old Jason Nichols, a former wrestling coach at Holcomb High School is accused of holding the judge at gunpoint May 31st.
Wurst had previously presided over a divorce hearing between Nichols and his ex-wife. Bond remains at 1.3 million dollars for the suspect. Nichols next court appearance is October 3.
