Topeka, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The state fire marshal’s office is planning to secure grant money with the goal is to make Kansas a whole lot safer.
Mende Barnett with the fire marshal’s office says they’re purchasing 10 year lithium battery smoke detectors. An emphasis will go into getting these detectors distributed in rural areas.
The program’s initial goal is to get 5-to-10 thousand smoke detectors.
