Mona Abney

Mona Abney, 80, died March 23, 2017 at Hays Medical Center, Hays. She was born on February 19, 1937 at Pratt, the daughter of Mike and Maxine (Kimberling) Murray. 

Mona was born and raised in Pratt where she graduated from Pratt High School. She then attended Pratt Community College. On March 25, 1966 she married C.W. Abney at Dodge City. She was a community life instructor at Arrowhead West.

Mona is survived by her son, Michael Abney of Dodge City; a daughter, Michala Abney of Dodge City; two grandsons, Anthony Rodriquez and Jayden Pike of Dodge City; and granddaughter, Leora Kennedy of Dodge City.

Graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery on Friday March 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Marguerite Ferrell officiating. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday March 31, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Arrowhead West in care of the funeral home.
