Mike Specketer, age 63, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at his home in Garden City. He was born November 15, 1949 at Schaller, Iowa, the son of Virgil & Margaret (Spindler) Specketer. Mike married Shirley Holmes on March 19, 1981 in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Mike moved to Loveland, Colorado with his family when he was 8 years old and attended Catholic School in Loveland. He worked as a mechanic at gas stations in Loveland. In 1970, he moved to Fort Morgan and went to work as a mechanic and groundsman for Morgan County Rural Electric Association for 24 years. In 2005, he moved to Garden City. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing slots at casinos and especially being involved with his family. Mike was a member of the Moose Lodge in Brush, Colorado.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Specketer of their home; 3 daughters, Sharri Salyers of Bethel, Alaska, Cinnamon Plaster of Brandon, Minnesota, Therri Wadel of Garden City; 2 brothers Bob Specketer of Loveland, Colorado, Steve Specketer of Loveland, Colorado; sister, Mary Fleming of Denver, Colorado; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents & 1 sister- Jean Rogers.

Visitation: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 07, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Morgan County Rural Electric Association Building with reception to follow, 20169 US HWY 34, Fort Morgan, Colorado.
