Michael Ray “Mike” King

Michael Ray “Mike” King, 66, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS. He was born January 11, 1950 in Greenfield, Missouri the son of Morris Rowe and Thetia (Freeze) King. He graduated from High School in Dadeville, MO in 1968. After graduation he was drafted in 1969 into the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1972 serving in Vietnam and received two purple hearts. He was employed by National Beef Packing Plant as a Transportation Director retiring March 11, 2016 after 30 years of service. He has served on LEPC Liberal Emergency Planning Committee for several years.
Hobbies were Golfing, Pen Riding, Scuba Diving, Snow Skiing, Hunting, Fishing and mostly playing with his grandchildren. 

On September 3, 1990 he married Kelley Wellman Stanton in Liberal, KS. She survives.

Brother David King and wife Tammy of Missouri
Mother in Law Barbara Wellman of Liberal, Kansas 
Grandchildren Ethan, Ashton, Trinity Jayda, Kameron and Jadrien ; Ashley; Zachary, and Amber ; Taylor; Kimberly, Melanie and Ashley. 
Great grandson Austin Hoffman

He is preceded in death by his Father Morris, Step Father Bobby Lowry, Father in Law Red Wellman and step great granddaughter Briana Stanton. 

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday Sept. 3, 2016 at the First Christian Church (DOC) with Pastor Terry Ford presiding. Military honors will be given by the American Legion Honor Guard. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
