Matthew Alan Bardgett

Matthew Alan Bardgett, 57, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born March 5, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of William Alan and Betty Jo (Garrett) Bardgett.
Mathew moved with his family to Garden City in 1971. In 1976, he moved to Wyoming where he lived for a couple of years. He returned to Garden City in 1978 and has lived in Garden City since. Matthew attended and graduated from the Texas Institute of Jewelry Technology in 1983. He later graduated with an Associates degree from Garden City Community College in 2008. In 2010, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in organizational Leadership from Fort Hays State University. Matthew has been working as a goldsmith and jeweler at Regan Jewelers since 1983. Matthew had the need for speed. He enjoyed hotrod cars, Mopar cars, fishing, camping, adventures, time with his family, and he loved helping people with disabilities.
Survivors include his daughter Heather Bardgett & husband Nicholas Heathman of Wichita, KS; 5 brothers Clyde & wife Rhonda Bardgett of Choteau, OK, Will & wife Lauren Bardgett of Norman, OK, Terry & wife Rickie Bardgett of Crouse, NC, Michael Bardgett of Casper, WY, and Joseph & wife Robin Bardgett of Douglas, WY; a sister Catherine Corso of Cheyenne, WY; 3 grandchildren Lilliana Heathman, Alexander Heathman, and Lynessa Heathman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Fr. James E. Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. There will be no calling hours. The family request memorials given to the Matthew Bardgett Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
