Mary Ann Strohm, age 86, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at her home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on January 29, 1929 in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of Dr. John T. And Mildred E. Thiebaud Keeling. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church of Scott City, Kansas.

Mary Ann’s involvements include the Kolorful Kansas Art Association, Sandhills Arts Association, and Scott City Garden Club. She was an artist, with a proclivity for watercolor. She attended several professional artists’ workshops: Tom Curry, Colby Community College; Naomi Brotherton, in Ruidoso, NM; Al Brouillette, Wichita, KS; George Shook, Dallas, TX; and Jim Fallier, Dodge City, KS. Some of Mary Ann’s works of art were displayed in several art galleries in western Kansas. She also loved visiting art galleries, her favorite being the Louvre in Paris, France. Mary Ann loved music, having studied voice in college, and she was also a pianist. She was an ardent reader and an intellectual. She was an astute investor and very closely followed the markets. Other hobbies included fishing & cooking. Mary Ann, with her parents and her siblings spent much of their childhood at the Scott County State Park, their father, Doc Keeling, being part owner and developer of the Beach House that is still in operation today.

On May 26, 1950 she married Robert H. Strohm in Scott City, Kansas. He survives.

Crist of Garden City, Kansas, Two Grandsons – Solomon R. & Laramee Crist of Garden City, Kansas, Elijah D. & Tara Crist of Hutchinson, Kansas, One Granddaughter – Jessica K. & Roger Wadel of Holcomb, Kansas, Three Nephews – John C. Keeling of Brighton, Colorado, Jay L. Keeling of Baker Florida, Jeffrey Drake of Tonasket, Washington, Two Nieces – Kelsie J. Percival of Garden City, Kansas and Susan Duff of Scott City, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Two Brothers – John D. Keeling & James D. Keeling and One Sister – Carol Drake.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the St. Catherine Hospice % of Price & Son Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.

Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.

There will be no calling times.
