Marion Schinstock
Marion Schinstock, 91, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City.
She was born December 14, 1924 at Rozel, the daughter of Marion and Alice (Decker) Mallow. She was a graduate of Kinsley High School and a longtime Spearville area resident. She was a homemaker and farm wife and was the former Librarian at the Spearville City Library. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Spearville. She was a gifted artist, accomplished pianist, avid reader, and enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities.
On October 23, 1943 she married Edward J. Schinstock at Colorado Springs. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2009.
Survivors include: 3 sons, John Schinstock and wife Brenda, Yates Center, Jack Schinstock, Lincoln, Nebraska and Kenny Schinstock and wife Karla, Dodge City; 5 daughters, Toni Ann Trebilcock and husband Gerald, Arvada, Colorado, Mary Jo Tasset and husband Duane, Dodge City, Vicki Brownrigg and husband Richard, Creede, Colorado, Denise Riegel and husband Steve, Dodge City and Peggy Taylor, Dodge City; 19 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Bruce Schinstock, a grandson, Butch Riegel, a great granddaughter, Cassidy Jo Lix, a daughter-in-law, Jan Schinstock, a grandson-in-law, Mike Howe, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Friday, April 8, 2016 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Spearville, with Fr. John Forkuoh presiding. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Spearville. Visitation will be Friday from noon to 7:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
