Mariners hand Kansas City third straight loss
Kansas City, Mo. (westernkansasnews.com)–The losing woes continue for the Kansas City Royals, as Seattle scores three runs in the first, second and fifth innings en route to a 9-6 win Tuesday night. Ryan Verdugo made his major league debut for the Royals, and gave up six runs in one and two-thirds innings. Lorenzo Cain came in and hit a two-run pinch-hit homerun, his first of the season. Kansas City has now dropped to a season low 13 games under .500. Game three of the four game series is tonight. It will be a battle of veterans, as Bruce Chen will take the mound for the Royals, while Kevin Millwood is scheduled to start for the Mariners in at 7:10 first pitch at Kaufman Stadium.
