Margaret Routh
Margaret Routh, 71, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was born February 25, 1945 in Austin, Indiana the daughter of Aaron & Mary Lee (Combs) Hurtt.
Margaret moved with her family to Garden City in 1952. She attended Garden City schools. Margaret later attended and graduated from the Garden City Community College School of Cosmetology. On March 30, 1962 she married Bobby D. Routh, Sr. in Garden City. Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons Bobby & wife Leigh Routh of Garden City and Clarence & wife Anita Routh of Garden City; two daughters Kelly Long of Satanta, Kansas and SueAnne Routh of Neosho, Missouri; her mother Mary Lee Caves of Garden City; two sisters Kaye Lightner of Garden City and Alta LaMaster of Leoti, Kansas; and six grandchildren. Margaret is preceded in death by her father; 2 brothers Charles E. Hurtt and Don Hurtt; a sister Wanda Haflich; a grandson; and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Pastor Rod Klingsick officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. There will be no calling hours. The family request memorials given to the Margaret Routh Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
